About Us

G2, Grades Plus Game, is an innovative math and science program designed to integrate academics and physical education through sports and cooperative games. G2 is a non-profit organization that empowers elementary, middle, and high school students with the tools and knowledge necessary to be successful in school and athletics. It ensures that our youth have the opportunity to excel in academics and fulfill their athletic potential. G2 is an advocate for positive change, and will embrace and celebrate improvement in the lives of children.

Our Mission and Vision

The mission of G2 is to emphasize the importance of education for all athletes. Having both “grades plus game” is essential, because “without grades, game doesn’t matter.” Families and community members can enrich the program by supporting the student athletes. When all stakeholders blend vision and commitment, they make a positive difference in the lives of children.

Our Story

Grades Plus Game was founded with the goal of bridging the gap between academic learning and physical activity. Our organization was born out of the desire to create a supportive environment where students can excel both in the classroom and on the court. We are proud to have been serving the Columbus community since our inception.

     Our Goals

  1. Develop self-confidence, discipline, and self-esteem through team-building skills
  2. Engage student athletes in academic and athletic based training
  3. Promote a healthy lifestyle through exercise and movement
  4. Provide a balanced math and science curriculum with fresh, new content
  5. Distribute G2 apparel to promote the positive concept of the program

Meet the Board

Francwau DuBose - Executive Director and Founder

Francwau D. L. DuBose began teaching physical education in 1996, and also serves as a basketball coach at the middle school level in Columbus, Ohio.  Originally from Canton, Ohio, his mother instilled in him at an early age the importance of education.  Her inspiration guided him towards the field of education, and his passion for athletics led him into coaching.  As a student athlete, Francwau understood the work ethic and dedication it took to maintain high standards in both areas.  He was disappointed when he repeatedly saw great athletes from elementary through college become ineligible to play for athletic teams due to insufficient grade point averages.  In 1999, Francwau had a vision that reflected an idealistic and uplifting means to integrate academics and athletics.  Over the years, he developed G2, Grades Plus Game, as a creative way to send an extremely important message about academic excellence and athletic achievement.  Francwau has also written a positive G2 theme song to motivate and inspire youth.
